PAIYON P4-2.0 Bookshelf Speakers Review
First Impressions
I recently bought these HiFi speakers by PAIYON P4-2.0, and having gone through some exceptionally long nights just breaking into them, putting around 12 to 15 hours into them, I feel ready to offer my review and impressions. Upon arrival, the first thing that struck me was their impressive build quality. Constructing these massive beasts, standing almost 15″ tall and weighing in at around 21 pounds, certainly deserves applause. Also, while subtle in dim light, the rosewood color springs into life under direct sunlight or artificial lighting — a charming detail that makes them look great.
Sound Quality
The all-encompassing sound componentry of these speakers quite took me. Far from being less or better, they were rather tonally ‘different’ from my previous Dynaudio Evoke 20 speakers. The combination of a sparkling high-end, deep, and highly musical bass and an extraordinarily detailed midrange was a delightful surprise. I believe these speakers can go lower than the advertised 52hz, which speaks volumes about the bass extension they are capable of while also producing fast, punchy bass. Furthermore, they offered fantastic detail and center imaging, which I greatly admire and appreciate in a HiFi speaker.
Performance
How the PAIYON P4-2.0 Bookshelf Speakers have performed in my home setup is praiseworthy. They have been fed by a decent Yamaha Aventage receiver pushing 120wpc and have performed exceptionally well as my main fronts. To my surprise, I often played two-channel stereo with the sub off; such was the quality of the bass produced. Additionally, they are pretty revealing speakers, able to highlight the caliber of the audio inputs they receive.
Exceptional Value for the Price
Although they appear somewhat pricey, upon using them, I can vouchsafe that my Paiyon P4-2.0 speakers offer phenomenal value for the price. Right off the bat, I made it a point to pair them with my TPA3251 class D amplifier. The result was stunning, presenting an excellent sound quality exceeding the speakers’ price range. Also, these speakers work exceptionally well with high-quality feeding equipment, given the sonic wonders they produce. They push entirely above their weight, which confirms their status as a terrific value product.
Design and Build
The design of the PAYION P4-2.0 is, in one word, beautiful. I got them in a rosewood color, which is relatively tame in lower lighting conditions but stands out impressively in direct sunlight and artificial lighting. Their robust size and weight and the quality of their finish also indicate the high construction standards employed by Paiyon.
The Potential Setbacks
As they are highly revealing, do not expect to play low-quality feeds and receive splendid results. They demand quality feeds on inputs to let them work their magic. Also, they are not fatiguing or particularly sibilant, but I found they might overdo the treble sometimes. However, I hope they will eventually tame a bit on the treble over time and with some burn-in.
Pros and Cons

Final Thoughts
Having experienced the PAIYON P4-2.0 Bookshelf Speakers these past few days, I conclude that they are an exceptional value for their price. These speakers’ sound quality, build, and performance are above and beyond those of many others in the market, placing them high on my list of recommended purchases. Despite being relatively unknown in the USA market, I discovered they have about a decade’s worth of positive feedback in the Chinese HiFi/audiophile scene. I think these Paiyon speakers are worth considering for anyone seeking value and quality.
